Welcome to
Atelier 8.18 This project continues to be influenced by the limitations of space in Vancouver. Atelier 8.18 started in March 2021 and will feature 3 exhibitions per programming year. The home setting is the inspiration for showcasing the artwork. The name Atelier 8.18 is my address. Viewings are by appointment or during our opening and closing. To indulge at your own home, the work is showcased online and is available to be purchased and can be delivered locally or shipped beyond. I am taking the opportunity to rethink and reinvent how artwork is exhibited and accessible. Curated and exhibited in an exclusive space in my home studio. I create spaces that are a pleasure to live in. If you have visited my place before, you would know my aesthetic and style and how it lends itself to beauty and possibility. Try out a work at your home or have a consult on how to integrate new work in your home. For a consult contact me: [email protected] Follow the Atelier on instagram @atelier8.18 All Artwork is available for purchase by clicking on the images. Free local delivery. Summer Seduction
curators notes: It was an absolute delight of being in my home this summer with the show, Summer Seduction. Bright and bold and engaging with unabashed colour and texture. These elements still remain in the space even when the work has been returned or off to new homes. This summer 2021, there was an expansion and people could visit the Atelier during some of the events that were out back. We had music, poets and performances and a lovely Finissage as a send off and end the exhibition. We were able to extend the exhibition an extra 30 days upon the request for more accessibility to the Atelier. The foundational paintings by Michael Fitzsimmons provided gorgeous larger work to fit exquisitely into smaller spaces to emanate colours like in “Blue Fugue” and texture in “Iqaliut” and the centerpiece “Departure”. Natalie Reynolds paintings are fiercely colourful and dynamic which complimented and smaller framed portraits by Kyla Bourgh and her petit portraits. A match made in synergy, pattern and tone: Crissy Arseneau’s paper sculptures resembling clouds or homes or the hybrid of both, worked together with Hillary Webb’s playful ceramics. A late addition and bridge to the next show, Heidi Sidhu’s work arrived to the Atelier in bounding and vibrant colour and energy. Atelier 8.18 Kyla Bourgh |
