CRIT started in January 2020 with the need to progress practices and to maintain buoyancy throughout the pandemic and now in present day.
We met to connect, to discuss, to work out creative conundrums.
CRIT has an annual fee to keep it running on Zoom- $90 membership for a year approx. 8 sessions as well as projects and possible exhibitions.
ABOUT CRIT: We welcome critique on all genres of work and creative work is not only visual. Any writing needs to be sent 2 weeks prior to the session and everyone gets at least a week to review it. Longer writing might need to be limited to a sample. There is a 45 minute timeline for critiquing (including presenting work). We will have a quick check in at the beginning. I will be keeping track of time so that we can progress easier.
THE FRAMEWORK: CRIT happens on the last Sunday of the month at 10:30am ( we have people join us from Eastern Canada and Europe) CRIT is on the zoom platform to keep everyone safe and to allow our International folks to attend.
We start with a CRIT question and brief check-in so that everyone has a chance to share where they are at in their practice. After that we have 2 creatives who have signed up in advance that we will critique. They can have a clean read or ask a question. Each critique runs 30-45 minutes max. We do intake on a schedule so we can better include those who are starting with us and to build rapport for the group. In total, CRIT lasts for about 2 hours including a short break. Seems long but you will be surprised how refreshing it is to join the discussion.
In you are invited to CRIT by a CRIT member, you can have one free session to see if you want to join. If you want to join CRIT- please email me.: [email protected]
